Take the test

It’s no secret that you can get along with certain people better than others, but why?

The Jungian Typology Theory categorizes people’s preferences based on how they interact with the world and how they gather and process information to make decisions, and it turns out that this affects the way you communicate with others, too. You might be familiar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), which is the most common application of the theory, but Birdy goes the extra mile and puts a romantic spin on it. There are sixteen personality types in total, and at Birdy, each personality type is represented by a bird.

There are sixteen birds, one for each personality type, and each bird also comes with a set of four letters—it seems like a lot to take in, doesn’t it?

But don’t worry! We’ll be explaining it step by step, and soon you’ll know the types just like how birds know how to fly.

How does it work?

Let’s say that you can broadly define your personality in just four letters; these are your “preferences”. The outermost two signify your Orientations and indicate how you prefer to interact with the world. The innermost two represent your Functions which inform how you prefer to gather and process information, as well as make decisions.

Different combinations of each preference would bring about nuances in thinking patterns and behaviors unique to each personality type. Most people naturally lean towards one side of each Orientation and Function, which is how the sixteen personality types come to be. For example, someone whose preferences lean towards Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, and Perception would be categorized as an “ISTP” and their corresponding bird would be a cuckoo.
